Mt Lofty Golf Club Junior Foundation - Update

On Monday 25th January Malcolm Bond, on behalf of the Mt Lofty Golf Club Junior Foundation, sent all of the required forms to Canberra and banked in excess of $1,000. Naturally these donations have come from members of the Golf Club and on behalf of the members of the Junior Development Committee I would like to thank those who have donated to the Foundation. When the Committee first discussed establishing a Foundation we were unsure of how such an enterprise would be received but we have been heartened by the depth of generosity from members.

Recently some of the money was spent to enter 6 junior members in the Jack Newton sponsored ‘Summer Cup’, which attracts golfers from Under 10 to Under 16 years of age from across the state. The event was held in January at Adelaide Shores Golf Park and satisfied one of our aims to expose Mt Lofty juniors to good golfers of a similar age away from the comforts of Mt Lofty. Alec Harrowfield, Alex Pacifico, Jordan Pfeiffer, Cameron Bond, Elliot Keith and Jake Alder all enjoyed the day at the Patawolonga golf courses.

More expenditure will go to providing putting aids that will be available to juniors before and after Sunday clinics on the practice putting green. Some of our older members may like to make use of these facilities which will be stored in the Pro shop!
