Sub Junior Championship

The Junior Development Committee has been looking at ways of encouraging young players who have made it to Stage 3 of Phase A of our Development Program - 'Sunday Clinic and 9 Hole Game'.

These young golfers have been to some clinics, learnt the basic skills and can tackle more than just a few holes at a time, but may not necessarily have an established handicap nor feel confident enough play Saturday competitions.

The Committee has decided to run a Sub Junior Championship to satisfy this aim.

The following is the format for the Sub Junior Championship:

  • To be eligible for the Sub Junior Championship players must be Junior Members, be aged 14 or less on the 1st July in the year of the competition.

  • The Sub Junior Champion will be decided by the lowest gross score from the player’s best four nine hole cards, from a minimum of six cards, submitted over the period 1st July to 31st October. The four cards must include two from the front nine and two from the back nine. It is expected that most of these nine hole rounds will be played after a Sunday clinic.

  • All calculations will be done on a 9 hole basis, but cards of 18 holes may count as two 9 hole cards.

  • A Sub Junior Championship card box to be placed in the pro shop, into which all cards are to be lodged.

  • The Sub Junior Championship to be awarded at the Presentation Dinner.
