Blue Wren Travel group to Kingston - 24th/25th/26th October 2011.
19 women from Mt Lofty travelled to the South East to play golf at the Kingston Golf Club.
We passed the Coorong, which now has plenty of water.
Kingston is a friendly, welcoming town.
The BIG Lobster and the old Cape Jaffa lighthouse are prominent features. Statice is used on council verges.
We stayed in the Lacepede Bay Motel.
A favourite house on Marine Pde.
Kingston beach and Lacapede Bay.
Golf on the Monday was played in cool windy conditions. The Kingston
women provided us with beautiful sandwich lunches and yummy cakes.
Early morning beach walks.
We had our presentations in the bar at the Motel.
Overall best were Marion and Jill. Thanks to Anne and her helper Judi, for organising such a special event.
The SE has many attractions. Cape
Jaffa Marina for boat people, many wineries and lots of interesting
local produce. We visited Sandy Grove where Muntries are grown.
On the way back to Adelaide, we stopped off at the Coorong and found
Muntries growing 'in the wild'. They grow as a ground cover, but in
cultivation they are grown on a trellis.
