Captain's Report
Twelve months have now passed since my appointment as Club Captain of
Mt. Lofty Golf Club. Some of you may now realise that I am proud to
serve as your Captain. However, I am still learning, with the assistance
of fellow committee members, past committee members and any other
members who have offered advice. I say thank you all. I will endeavour,
at all times, to think of the big picture. This is of course, to think
of the good of Mount Lofty Golf Club, and you, the members.
Welcome to
new committee members, Malcolm Morrison, Ian Craigie, Cliff Ellis, Peter
Loveless, Gordon Bowen and Peter Walsh. We look forward to your
contribution.
With luck our Course Superintendent will be back on deck
soon. We wish you a speedy recovery Steve. At this point I would like to
thank Chad, Marc, Tom and Phil for their efforts in maintaining the
course in Steve's absence. They have done a great job. Of course, this
could not be achieved without the continued efforts of Stevie's Wonders
and other volunteers.
I must also thank Ben Tobin (Vice-Captain) for his
support, and Matthew, our golf Professional.
See you in the Clubhouse.

Match Report
Pennant season is well advanced with the Pennant teams
performing well. In the difficult Simpson cup section Mt. Lofty won
their first match away from home, a great effort, and are continuing to
perform well. The B Side are undefeated and with one game remaining are
assured of a place in the final for the 2nd year in a row. A great
effort. Members are urged to come to the pennants and support the team.
The players welcome a friendly face. The last match for the A side is at
home against Tee Tree Gully and the B's are playing at the Vines against
North Adelaide. Both matches are scheduled to start at 12 pm.

Roney on the Rules
A player lifted his ball when he should not have
done so:- Case 1. He was not aware (or forgot) that a temporary Local
Rule about preferred lies (permitting lifting) had been withdrawn.
Case
2. In a match he mistakenly thought the hole was over.
What are the
rulings?
