Winter Edition Golf Tip
Having trouble getting off your back
foot? When I'm teaching, one of the most common faults I see is golfers
hitting the ball off the back foot.
If you don't transfer your weight during
the downswing you will swing with just your hands, causing very
inconsistent golf shots. If your swing falls into this category here is
a practice drill to help you.
The purpose of this is to make sure your
weight moves from the right to the left side during the downswing.
Set yourself up and make your normal
backswing. During the downswing take one step towards the target. This
will give you the feeling of transferring your weight during the
swing.
This is a practice drill only, you don't
hit balls using this drill.
Feel free to come and see me and I will
run through this excellent drill with you
Good Luck and good golfing,
Matthew Dent,
Your friendly neighbourhood Golf Professional.
