Women's Golf
The Champagne Breakfast held on the 29th
September with an Hawaiian theme was a great success. The beautifully
decorated dining room astounded all, and it was pleasing to see the
clubhouse full. Thank you to all members who supported this event. We
raised $1797, an excellent reward for all the planning and effort that
went into the day.
The Mount Shield played on 21st October
at Mt. Osmond was for the 4th consecutive time won by Mt. Lofty. Well
done Ladies!
Congratulations to Celia Fowler and
Pauline Nietz for coming Runners-Up (on a count back) in the WGSA State
Wide Shylie Rymill Handicap Foursomes.
Mt.
Lofty hosted the Stableford round of the WGSA Open Country Week on 17th
October when 40 ladies played. Our committee received favourable
comments from visitors who took part regarding the course and the warm
welcome from our Lady Members.

How About This!
- The
ducks on the lake had a single duckling family for a short time a
couple of weeks ago. The poor little character could be seen racing
back and forth with the adults that were being fed. The little legs
were doing windmills, something like the 'roadrunner' of cartoon
fame, as it tried to keep up. Sad to say it lasted only days before
disappearing, probably down the gullet of a raven.
- The
trees have been felled to make way for the new 7th tee. Construction
will begin before long.
- "Chicken
Runs" are on again with daylight saving. Enjoy the fun and
companionship of these front or back nine comps. They occur during
twilight hours, about three weekly on Fridays. Stay for a meal and a
bottle afterwards. Book a four or join a four at the pro shop.
- Play
on Saturdays? Don't forget to play the holes in sequence. There are
no times off on the 17th, at least for the time being.
