The Editor,
Dear Frank,
Is it possible to have the Newsletter posted to all members?

I realize that there is a considerable postage expense, but this could be reduced by posting to families rather than individuals.

The big bonus would be the exposure the Club would get by having its publication read by more people, including the friends and relatives of current members.

If this exposure resulted in just one new membership, we would have recouped at least twice the cost of mailing.

Another idea would be to Email copies to those members who have an Internet connection, effecting yet another cost saving.

I can name at least five clubs that mail their newsletters to members.

Dear Al,
Sounds like a great idea. Our cur-rent method of distribution is somewhat haphazard. At least one edition could be posted each year with other member notices from the office. I'm sure that currently only about one quarter of member-ship gets to read the News
Ed.

Match

The first item is the use of the blue tee markers. The blue tee markers are for competitions only and are not to be used for social play by members or visitors. Please use the appropriate tee area.

Call-up holes require the display of etiquette. Call up as soon as all of your group are on the green and stand at the designated spot while the following group tees off. Also, do not leave bags and buggies at the front of the green. The Match Committee urges members to consider fellow golfers.

Nominations are open for the Mulroney Mug, the C.C. Verco Trophy and numbers are still required for the Mount Shield. These are enjoyable events so please give consideration to playing in them.

Chairman Match Committee.

Reminiscing

Handicaps of the rich and famous.

Now that millions of golfers around the world have their handicaps on computer, even the most famous and glamorous golfers cannot pretend to better at the game than they really are.

"Australian Golf Digest" this year published their first ever "ranking" of golfers in the entertainment industry. Some of the handicaps will surprise you, while others also indicate that a number of previously excellent golfers are now growing older (like many of us!).
