Answer to Rules Question

'A' is a righthander, 'B' is a lefthander! Keeping their feet (stance) clear of the obstruction means the nearest point of relief for each will be very close to the path edge on opposite sides.

On Thursday 9 August we were delighted to be able to celebrate with Dot Hartley on her 80th Birthday. Dot is a much loved member who still manages to play 18 holes of golf each week. It was lovely to welcome many of our past Lady Members who came to join the celebrations.

The Champagne Breakfast is one of the most popular events on the Club's calendar and despite being re-scheduled to the October long weekend, was well attended as usual. We catered for 80 at breakfast and golf with 90 for lunch. Thanks go to Libby Pellew and our Social Committee who combined to present the dining room in an attractive bushland theme. Thanks also to our Lady Members, husbands and partners, and Matthew Dent who worked hard to make the day a success.

The Committee is delighted to report that the amount raised was $1,465.00. Some of this money will go towards a new flag for the Club which we hope will be up and flying by the end of October.

The 2001 Senior Ladies Amateur Championships of Australia were held at Mount Barker Golf Club from 1-5 October 2001. Our congratulations go the Sybil Mulroney who won the Veterans Flight Award - a wonderful achievement.

Marion Cartwright,
President, Ladies Committee.
