The Treasurer
The new financial year for the club sees the introduction of the direct debit system of paying your fees which will be advantageous for a number of members and potential members. The new year also sees the introduction of GST. We are within the GST system and have set up procedures and processes to deal with GST and associated issues. Any queries in respect of GST should be directed to the Secretary manager or me.
Because trophies & prizes for major competitions cost about $3,500 with engraving, an entrance fee of $3 will be charged for all major trophy competitions. New members continue to be drawn to Mt.. Lofty and it is encouraging to see new faces regularly on the course. Obviously membership is income and we look forward to another solid year.

The Course
At the time of publication, trees in line of sight on the right hand side of the 17th fairway, between the tee and green, will have been or will be removed. This action was discussed at length and is to be seen as making the course fairer rather than easier.
As you will have noticed, the greens have been in poor condition of late. This has been caused by a fungal disease which has been sprayed and has necessitated a late coring and sanding of all greens to help aerate below the surface. The problem is State wide and has now been solved, we hope.
With the onset of wet weather, just a little reminder to walk around boggy areas and not through them, as this causes more damage.

The Club's New Website
Currently under construction by International Training & Management Pty Ltd, our new Internet Website at www.mountloftygolfclub.com.au will give members Internet access to what's happening at the Club, from tee closures to events, results to social functions. Other sections include History, Membership, Catering, Accommodation, Fees etc.
