Ladies
We started the winter season well,
winning back the Mount Shield. As the match was at the Mount Osmond Golf
Club this excellent result is doubly applauded. The next match in
October will be at Mount Lofty so we are hoping to retain the Shield for
a while longer.
This year we were invited to participate
in an event sponsored by the L'Oreal cosmetics company. We were allowed
to choose the day and the format for the competition and our Committee
decided that a Stableford round would be fairest to all. The event was
held on 24 May 2001 and L'Oreal kindly sponsored drinks for those
attending the presentation. The winner was Lynn Creighton who was
delighted to receive the L'Oreal Cup together with an assortment of
cosmetic products.
The Ladies Championships were held at the
end of May. The qualifying, quarter final and semi final rounds were
played in excellent weather but unfortunately on finals day the weather
was cold with heavy rain. The C-Grade managed to complete their 18-hole
match on the day but the matches for A-Grade (36 holes) and B-Grade (27
holes) were abandoned after 18 holes and had to be completed the
following week.
The results were:
A Grade Winner Julie Michelmore, Runner Up Jill Freer
B Grade Winner Judy Denton, Runner Up Marion Cartwright
C Grade Winner Fay Leditschke, Runner Up Celia Fowler
This month a number of our ladies will be
heading off to various venues in the state for Womens Golf Country Week
- no home duties, no meals to prepare, just a few days of golf, fine
dining and fun - Bliss!!

WEDNESDAY PLAY AND
DRESS CODE
The Course/Match Committee recently
recommended that certain revisions should be made to the Visitor Dress
Requirements and the extensive tee closure on Wednesdays.
The recommendations were accepted by the
Committee of Management and are detailed below:
TEE CLOSURE New Rule: The
"Wednesday Tee Closure" is now replaced by a "Wednesday
Men's Competition Day". All competition players have right of way.
This means that anyone may play on Wednesday, but those entered in the
gentlemen's competition have complete priority. Non-competition players
must give way to competitors on tees and at any time on the course.
Before teeing off, all guests, visitors
and members not competing in the event of the day will be informed of
these rules by the Professional or his staff.
Dress Code Members must abide by
the "Members Handbook" Dress Code.
Clean and neat denim jeans are acceptable dress for guests and visitors
making their first visit, but they must be informed that for future
visits they will be expected to comply strictly with the Members Dress
Code. Collared shirts are to be worn by everyone at all times.
